He called in to K-EARTH 101 earlier this month, but Richie “LaBamba” Rosenberg joined Gary and Lisa in person and brought along his trusty trombone to play a few “mystery” TV theme songs for listeners to guess!
Now into its second week, LaBamba is enjoying the huge response the newest number one television show, Conan, is getting. He’s glad to be back on TV and part of Conan’s team in the “Basic Cable Band,” and even more excited to play at his own gig at the Canyon Club this weekend!
We were almost not worthy sitting with such an accomplished musician and star like LaBamba, who in addition to backing up Conan for 18 years, has been on the road with Bruce Springsteen and played at the Superbowl.
But the laid back family man was more than friendly as he sat in with Gary and Lisa to talk about his upcoming gig with his thunderous 20 piece LaBamba’s Big Band at the Canyon Club this Saturday, November 20th. He even brought along his trombone to play a few mystery theme songs and show off his incredible talent!

His Big Band features more players from Conan’s house band and break it down with a mix of funk, blues, and good ol’ rock n’ roll classic hits. Show up early for the show this weekend to catch Conan’s in-house comedian’s set before the robust band perform their hits!
