Tickets @ Two features a hit that got up to #3 on the music chart by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ace [/lastfm] and the song “How Long?”
You may think you know the meaning of the song, but many people are wrong on the story behind it. Get the real story on Ace’s “How Long?”
Many believed that it’s a love song. But the truth is that it was about bass player Terry Comer working with other bands (he played briefly with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Sutherland Brothers[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Quiver[/lastfm] before returning to Ace). He didn’t tell the members of Ace and they felt as if they were cheated on.
Paul Carrack was the lead singer of Ace. He went on to sing for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Squeeze[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mike And The Mechanics[/lastfm].
This was Ace’s only hit and the group broke up in 1977. Although they didn’t reach superstar success, their hit “How Long?” produced one of the best bass lines ever.
