Today In Music History: October 4th

[lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm]’ hit “Yesterday” was the number one song in the charts on this day in 1965. Four years later in 1969, the album Green River by [lastfm]Creedence Clearwater Revival[/lastfm] was the number one album.

1980 –  USC’s Trojan Marching Band was given a platinum record by [lastfm]Fleetwood Mac[/lastfm]’s  Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks for their participation in the group’s album Tusk.

1982 – The group [lastfm]Squeeze[/lastfm] announced they were breaking up.
