[lastfm]Cher[/lastfm] has done it. So has [lastfm]Celine Dion[/lastfm]. So has [lastfm]Bette Midler[/lastfm]. But before [lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm] agrees to do a Las Vegas residency show at a top-tier casino, he wants to dip his toes in the water, so to speak.
So Stewart will be spending two weeks in November at Caesars Palace, playing shows at the Colosseum as a dry run for a possible longer stay.
“For some years now, AEG Live has been wanting me to do a residency show in Vegas,” Stewart said. ”I decided it was time to give it a try but I thought ‘first, let’s try 2 weeks instead of 2 years though.’ Who knows what this could lead to? I know that my band, background singers, and I are going to enjoy performing in such an intimate setting and having the chance for the fans to be in close proximity while hearing all the hits.”
Stewart has been drawing good reviews for his 2010 tour dates, which have been mostly in the UK and Europe. These shows will take place November 6, 7, 10, 14, 17, 18, 20, and 21, with tickets going on sale via Ticketmaster this Saturday, October 2, at 10am.
A [lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm] residency in Las Vegas…this just makes sense, doesn’t it?
