Susan Boyle Covers Lou Reed on New Album

While previous reports generated false gossip that [lastfm]Lou Reed[/lastfm] intentionally didn’t let [lastfm]Susan Boyle [/lastfm] sing his song on America’s Got Talent, Boyle thinks that it’s a “perfect day” for reconciliation and to lay her finely-tuned, well-calibrated chops into Reed’s song “Perfect Day” on her new album, The Gift.

When Susan Boyle originally wanted to sing “Perfect Day” on America’s Got Talent, an incorrect report said that Reed ixnay’d this decision. What most do not know is that  the song was not cleared through publishing for a US performance. It was only cleared in the UK.
The Gift comes out on November 12th and will include Christmas songs as well as Lou Reed and [lastfm]Leonard Cohen[/lastfm].

Here is the tracklisting:

1. “Perfect Day”
2. “Hallelujah”
3. “Do You Hear What I Hear” (Duet with Amber Stassi)
4. “Don’t Dream It’s Over”
5. “The First Noel”
6. “O Holy Night”
7. “Away in A Manger”
8. “Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace”
9. “Auld Lang Syne”
10. “O Come All Ye Faithful”

And here is Boyle singing “Perfect Day.” It gives us chills.
