Alex O’Loughlin Makes Triumphant Return To TV In “Hawaii Five-0”

“Hawaii Five-O” lead Alex O’Loughlin has it all.  He’s an international star, he’s garnered numerous awards and he once made out with [lastfm]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm].  What’s next for the actor?  O’Loughlin took a minute to chat with Haseena Akita to talk about his newest hit, the reboot of “Hawaii Five-O.”

O’Loughlin, a native of Australia, began his career starring in local commercials and television shows. He rose to national attention when he won several awards for his performance as a prisoner of Botany Bay in “The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant.” After becoming a celebrity down under, O’Loughlin began his career in the U.S.

He was a co-star in the CBS hit “The Shield.” After a couple of seasons on the crime show, he starred in the Jennifer Lopez vehicle The Back Up Plan and headlined the vampire thriller series “Moonlight.” The television program was such a cult hit, upon hearing the series would not be granted a second season, fans sprung into action, publishing petitions, emailing network executives and even holding blood drives to try to revive the show.

O’Loughlin is back and better than ever in the reboot of the classic hit series “Hawaii Five-O.”  He plays Steve McGarrett, a detective in one of the most dangerous and successful crime fighting units in Hawaii.  The show also features Scott Caan, Grace Park and former “Lost” star Daniel Dae Kim.

Can’t wait to see the reboot? Watch a clip from the premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” here! Remember to tune into CBS Monday at 10 pm ET/PT  (9 pm Central) to watch O’Loughlin in the series premiere.

Thanks to Haseena Akita and Trey Astbury for their contributions to this piece.  Come back each Wednesday for another celebrity interview from The Guest List.
