It must be hard living in the shadow of a rock star parent, and while [lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm], [lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Elvis Presley[/lastfm], didn’t have the high caliber children fans expected, there are some rock stars out there whose kids successfully avoided the clichés of “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll” and carved their own path in life, even if it didn’t amount to the same fame and wealth as that of their famous parent.
In the case of [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], his daughter Stella McCartney is a world-renowned fashion designer, and now his 33-year-old son [lastfm]James McCartney[/lastfm] is following in his father’s footsteps with the release of his debut EP.
Titled Available Light, the EP was produced by David Kahne ([lastfm]The Strokes[/lastfm], [lastfm]Tony Bennett[/lastfm],) and [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm].
While the EP includes a cover of Neil Young’s “Old Man,” his music style is considered more of a “commercial rock approach” then that of his famous father’s.
Available Light will be available digitally and in stores September 21.
