Child Number Nine for Rod Stewart?
Some men collect muscle cars, others tattoos or younger women—[lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm] collects children.
Earlier this month the 65-year-old rocker announced he was expecting child number two with 39-year-old wife Penny Lancaster, bringing him to a total of eight children.
And while Stewart admits he is happy with the pregnancy, he said his baby-making days are over (Maybe it’s because he doesn’t want to work until he’s a century old in order to support his socialite children).
“I’m very happy but it will be the last. I can’t have any more kids, otherwise I’ll be touring until I’m 90.”
Rod‘s other children are Sarah, 46, who was born when he was 19, and later put up for adoption; Kimberley, 30, and Sean, 29, with his by first wife, model Alana Hamilton; Ruby, 23, by model Kelly Emberg; Renee, 18, and Liam, 15, with his second wife Rachel Hunter, and Alastair, 4, with wife Penny Lancaster.
And despite his children’s inheritance portion decreasing with each new kid, the father boasted that they are happy with the news.
“They’ve known for a couple of years we’ve been trying for a baby and they’re delighted.”
In a day when celebrity baby names garners so much attention from the media, the Baby Boomer will not go the “alternative” baby name route for child number eight, but instead said he will give the baby a “Celtic name” if it is a boy.
Once born and older, fans may get a chance to see the child on stage. “I might bring them out on stage once or twice, I wouldn’t want to exploit him or her though,” he said. “It’s good for the kids to see where their daddy works.”
…So long as the groupies are out of sight. And who could blame them? Check out this dreamboat! *Growl*
