 Beatles Piano Worth Beaucoup Bank

An instrument can often be a band’s totem (or object that imparts them with guidance and magical power), so it’s fitting that a piano used by one of the most popular bands ever to breathe notes into a microphone,[lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm], is now on auction and expected to get mad cash.

Find out after the break what songs tickled those ivory keys and how much money you would need to get your fingers on these legendary black and whites.

The piano, a Challen upright, was purchased for Abbey Road studios in 1964.  It had its home in the smallest studio, Studio III, where [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm] recorded such songs as “Paperback Writer”, “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da” and “Tomorrow Never Knows.” [lastfm]Pink Floyd[/lastfm] also recorded “Wish You Were Here” on the piano, adding to its epic awesomeness.

The piano is expected to go for $300,000 or more at auction. Listen to the pricey piano go honky-tonk reggae on The Beatles’ “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da.”
