Denouncing his two decade throne as CNN’s prominent suspendered nightly newscaster, Larry King is moving on to a more traditional life spending more time with his family.
But where does that leave his program? There are celebrities in need of interviews and breaking news to be covered, and sources say they’ve found just the right replacement to continue bringing newsworthy spotlights to the network.
Already a prominent judge on a hit TV show and host of his own British talk show, this guy knows the ropes with the talk show regime and has even made stern-faced Simon Cowell cry.
The only obstacle Morgan has in his way is a current media contract with NBC, but sources have reported the network is open to letting Morgan work with both networks.
Access Hollywood spoke to fellow AGT judge Howie Mandell about the rumors saying, “Piers is a very fine — I don’t think that people in America know this — but he’s a phenomenal journalist.”
The AGT judge has previously been the editor Britain’s Mirror newspaper and News of the World as well as the host of his own “Larry King-esque” talk show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, in Britain where Simon Cowell broke down in tears during an emotional interview.
What do you think of the proposed successor of Larry King? Does Piers Morgan have the talent and capability to moderate exclusive celebrity interviews and fill King’s suspenders? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
