Forty four-year-old [lastfm]Janet Jackson[/lastfm] might be viewed as the baby sibling of the Jacksons, but she wants to the world to know that her dating life is her prerogative. She can date who she wants to date even if that certain special someone in her life is a decade younger than she is.
Join us after the break for more of Jackson’s opinions on ageism, dating choices and molding to people ideals.
[lastfm]Janet Jackson[/lastfm] has received “horrible” criticism of her relationship with a man 10 years her junior, Wissam Al Mana. While Jackson’s family was unconventional, they were the sort of family that was fully supportive of all personal decisions, including those about dating outside of age:
“Mother always raised us to believe that age was just a number. All of us – my sisters, my brothers – we’ll just tell you our ages because it’s all about where you are mentally and how you feel about yourself.”
Jackson believes that this outrageous ageism must be attributed to a jealous man, but she just doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. It’s none of their business.
“There comes a time when you don’t give an ‘F’ what people say or think. You just do your thing because it’s finally about you and not in a selfish way but in a great way.”
We agree and don’t think anyone should have a say in how Janet lives her life. Even if we have watched her since she was the insanely adorable Tiny Janet in this video clip.
We’ve had this [lastfm]Janet Jackson[/lastfm] song stuck in our head all weekend. She’s obviously not a baby anymore and can do what she wants.
