It seems soul diva, Aretha Franklin, has made some high-profile buddies in Washington D.C.. Not only did she perform at President Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration, but now she is performing with Condoleezza Rice accompanying her on piano at Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 27th.
If you are as shocked as we are that Condoleezza Rice is a musician, click more for details!
The two will perform ” Say A Little Prayer,” “Natural Woman,” and selections from Mozart. According to Aretha Franklin, Condoleezza Rice is a very talented and “consummate” musician that is up for the challenge of both Franklin’s work and classical composers:
“Rice is a consummate classical pianist and since I sing the arias, I thought that we could do something, a bipartisan effort for our favorite charities.”
The charities that Franklin is mentioning are programs that support inner city children and the Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts education initiatives.
We love the idea of our nation’s political powerhouses getting together with our nation’s musical powerhouses.
