Springsteen Brings Unheard Material Out Of ‘Darkness’
New, unheard tracks from the Boss?! That’s right, [lastfm]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm] (and his E Street Band) are reissuing some unheard material from deep within the vault for a bigger, badder, deluxe edition of Darkness on the Edge of Town. When can you expect to hear this bonus material? Get all the details here.
E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt revealed the reissue of Darkness on the Edge of Town will include ten or more outtakes from the 1978 album. Van Zandt teased:
We’re doing a little bit of fixes on some ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’ outtakes, which is going to be a really fun reissue coming for Christmas.
Van Zandt also revealed that Springsteen’s engineer has been snooping around in the vault for more unheard material to add to the reissue that will likely overdub new vocals over the original music, saying:
“We put ten or so outtakes on the Tracks box set and we [have since] found ten more. I’m not sure how many we’ll put on there. We’ll go back and he might finish a lyric on one or two, or finish a harmony on one or two, but we’ll keep them intact pretty much.”
What else can we hope for from the deluxe version of Darkness? Possibly some bonus concert footage from the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour? We can only wait and see.
