Part of what makes [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] an iconic rock star is his foray into different types of music. From good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll with [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm], to classical music, to electronica and now… you’ll never guess!
Or maybe you will. Who knows?! Find out if your guess is right after the jump!
No, not heavy metal. (Imagine that?!) The 68-year-old musician told the BBC he was commissioned to write the music for a ballet. The artist admittedly does not know much about the project yet, but is excited about the new venture. He said of it:
I’m interested in doing things I haven’t done before. That offer came up and I love writing music, the two went together and I said, ‘Yeah,’ so I just accept things before I even know what I’m doing. I don’t really know that much about it yet. I’m just writing music for it, but it’s a switch!
We’re positive the results will be as great as all those before. If anything, here’s hoping McCartney at least gets paid a hefty sum for his efforts.
Not that the man is broke or anything, but two years after his divorce from peg-legged Heather Mills and we still can’t believe that woman walked away with $50 million. Blasphemy! Not to mention [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] owning the rights to [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm] catalog. That’s another hefty chunk of change right there!
