It’s hard to imagine that in all of the years Paul McCartney has been performing in so many venues and countries, he has never ever played “Music City U.S.A.”

That’s about to be rectified as Sir Paul, finally, will get to perform in Nashville, Tennessee.

[lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], as a Beatle, member of Wings and as a solo act, somehow managed to miss the home of the Grand Ole Opry.

For the first time ever, Paul will play Nashville on Monday, July 26th. Tickets go on sale this Monday.

In other [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] news, a one-of-a-kind hand painted poster for the Beatles’ 1964 Australian tour will be auctioned off. The poster was found at a garage sale recently and was reportedly bought for only a “pittance.”

It is thought to be the only known concert poster from any of the four Australian cities played by the Fab Four on their visit.

Finally, the Beatles already hold just about every album sales record you can think of.  A number of their albums have now added new Gold and Platinum honors. The RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) has certified The Beatles In Stereo triple-Platinum and The Beatles In Mono set Platinum. Also, The Beatles’ LOVE album has just been certified TRIPLE Platinum!!
