Keith Richards keeps falling more times than the stock market. Most recently, he gained unwanted notoriety by falling on his head from being perched high in a coconut tree on some far away island, forcing postponement of a number of Rolling Stones concerts.
It’s happened before….
On this date (May 16) of 1998, Keith fell in his Connecticut home, breaking his ribs and forcing postponement of the Stones’ upcoming tour.
It was May 16th of 1970 that Randy Bachman left the Guess Who.
The Who‘s Pete Townshend is arrested onstage after mistakenly kicking a cop he thought was a fan rushing the stage (oops, no, DOUBLE OOPS!) May 16, 1969
Motown Records was formed on THIS DAY in 1960!
On May 16th of 1983, that’s correct, 83, Michael Jackson introduced the “moonwalk” at the taping of the Motown 25th Anniversary TV special (for some reason, the 25th anniversary special was only 23 years after Motown formed. Somebody just couldn’t WAIT to celebrate!)
The Beach Boys released their “Pet Sounds” album on this day in 1966
