Charlie Tuna’s Most Requested Elvis Song Ever!

elvis laughing Charlie Tunas Most Requested Elvis Song Ever!

Since the 70’s, there has been one Elvis recording which I’ve always had more requests for than any other song of his. It’s a “live” recording of Elvis in Vegas where he just loses it laughing during “Are You Lonesome Tonight”. Now someone has put together a great YouTube clip that recreates what it must have looked like to the audience that night.

Check out the video for yourself!

I am very cautious about people messing with The Talent Elvis had, that being said This was very tasteful and funny.
Good Job, thanks for humiliating our memories.

This is not from one of Elvis’ Las Vegas performances at the International (now Hilton) Hotel. It is Elvis Presley’s third and final television special broadcast seven weeks and six days following his death on August 16, 1977. It was rebroadcast by CBS the following Spring of 1978 and hasn’t been shown since. It is his only special that remains unavailable on home video. The concert was performed and video taped in Omaha, Nebraska.

      Hi Phil,

Actually the audio recording is from the International (Hilton) Hotel in August of 1969, but the video part is what someone put together to recreate, as I said, what it must have looked like to the audience in Vegas that night. You’re correct about the video part, that isn’t from Vegas, but the audio is, because at the end of the audio on this clip, Elvis comments “14 years right down the drain, man”…a reference to his career length at that time, from 1955 to 1969 = 14 years. A good friend of mine, John Wilkinson, the rhythm guitar player for Elvis during those concert years, verified it did happen in Vegas on this audio recording.
