Coachella 2010 is history
The Coachella music festival reminds me of Woodstock in the Desert, at least Desert like temperatures.
I was curious to see how Sly (Sylvester) Stewart of [lastfm]Sly & the Family Stone[/lastfm] would do and he did show up without the Family Stone. He was true to form, scheduled to perform at 7:00 p.m., at 7:05 a rep announced that quote, “Sly Stone’s performance has been postponed until a little bit later.”
When he did appear over four hours later–he launched into a speech about a lawsuit he’s waging against his former manager. He performed “Hot Fun in the summertime”, and “Family Affair”. His long-awaited set ran about a half-hour for a small group of about 300 fans who waited him out. Sly always did go to the beat of a different drummer, when thinking of Sly I keep in mind that “The Blood is thicker than the mud, and it’s a family affair!”
