The estate of the late [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] is joining hands with Cirque du Soleil to what they say will be the creation of a show “unlike any other!”
The two sides have agreed to get started building an entire presentation centered around “The King of Pop.”
The plan is for the show to tour sports arenas late next year and then make a permanent home in Las Vegas, similar to superstar
Cirque du Soleilshows already being performed for the [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] (“Love”) and the new “Viva [lastfm]Elvis[/lastfm]!”
Cirque founder Guy Laliberte says “Through the use of cutting-edge technology, we will produce a Cirque du Soleil experience not only worthy of Michael, but unlike any other we have created before.”
WE BELIEVE HIM!!!!
Production budget will be handled by both the Jackson estate and Cirque du Soleil.
A lawyer with the Jackson people says, “Michael was a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil and this will not just be a tribute to Michael’s music genius, but a live entertainment experience that uses the most advanced technology to push every creative boundary, just as Michael always did.”
Katherine Jackson, matriarch of the family adds, “We’re (the Jackson family) thrilled that Cirque du Soleil will pay tribute to my son in such an important way.”
