Just announced….with all the talk over the past couple of months that Conan O’Brien would probably be wooed by one of the major terrestrial over-the-air networks (FOX? ABC?) for a late-night show to compete with Jay Leno‘s Tonight Show on NBC and CBS’s The David Letterman Show, a sneak “end around” was completed and announced today!!!
Look for the NEW Conan O’Brien show to join the cable network TBS!!
See? We told you it was a surprise.
It’s set. Conan O’Brien will do an hour a night Monday through Thursdays on TBS at 11pm!
George Lopez will be moved to midnight.
It’s OK between George and Conan though; in fact, George called Conan personally and asked him to come aboard the cable network!
The still untitled Conan show is due to start in November.
The deal was reportedly signed on Friday, as George Lopez expressed his elation that Conan would be a great lead-in to George’s midnight program.
