[lastfm]Ringo Starr[/lastfm] starts his tour schedule for the summer on June 24th in Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada.
He’ll wind his way along the east coast of the United States from there, with (so far) his last eastern stop at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on his birthday, July 7th!
By the way, wherever you are on Ringo’s special day, he wants all of his fans to celebrate his birthday at noon, your time, on 7/7 by flashing the “peace sign!” It HAS to be precisely NOON your time!!!
In case you weren’t around during the late 60’s, the “peace sign” is a “V” made by holding your index and middle fingers apart, like “rabbit ear” indoor TV antennas, with your thumb touching your ring and pinky fingers directly below. That may sound a bit complicated, but it’s pretty easy, once you get the hang of it.
If you’re still having a problem with it, see Ringo’s photo demonstration on this post 🙂
Ringo’s tour then heads to the southeastern U.S., the Midwest and the western states.
He’ll be playin’ the Greek in L.A. exactly a month after his birthday. Circle August 7th on your calendar of events.
According to his website, more dates are pending!
By the way, in his 11th version of the All-Star Band, some of the “All-Stars” in the group are Gary Wright, Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer!
