22 Years ago today, we lost the youngest of the Gibb brothers.
[lastfm]Andy Gibb[/lastfm] was only 5 days past his 30th birthday and died from an inflammatory heart virus in Oxford, England.
He was never a member of the [lastfm]Bee Gees[/lastfm].
Brothers Barry, Maurice (pronounced “Morris”) and Robin, as “[lastfm]The Bee Gees[/lastfm],” are one of the most successful and best selling rock groups in history.
Maurice, twin brother of Robin, passed away on January 12, 2003.
Maurice was married to British singing star [lastfm]Lulu[/lastfm] for a few years in the very late 60′s-early ’70′s.
Andy made a huge name for himself as a solo act, starting in 1977.
He scored three number one songs in a row with “I Just Want To Be Your Everything,” “Love Is Thicker Than Water,” and “Shadow Dancing,” his biggest hit.
Three more top ten songs would follow as Andy became almost as big as his Bee Gee brothers.
Andy dated actress Victoria Principal for a time.
Some say, after that relationship ended, he died of a broken heart.
