Today is National What If Cats & Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs day!  Which got us to thinking, what if your furry friends actually had the ability to give you a thumbs up?

Check out some of our ideas after the jump!

• You could teach them even more awesome tricks like how to open a can of dog/cat food or better yet, how to open up a bottle of wine.
• You could take even more adorable photos of your cats and dogs holding hands in perfect harmony!  That would be a real scene stealer in Pet of the Week!
• Your animals and children could spend even more quality time together when your dogs/cats learned how to play video games.
• They could be trained to help you carry in your groceries. This one would be a little tricky, as you’d also have to get them used to walking on their hind legs, but with a little time and effort anything’s possible, right?
