PARKING INFO and METRO DISCOUNT INFO.
The L.A. Zoo parking lot is under construction to make it more environmentally friendly and to improve visitors’ experience at the Zoo. Due to the construction, parking may be limited. The L.A. Zoo encourages patrons to take public transportation to the Zoo and to arrive early. Metro’s number 96 bus will drop visitors off at the Zoo. Those who take Metro to the Zoo should be sure to bring their ticket because their Metro ticket will save adults $3 and kids $2 on the price of admission.
If you want more details on the parking lot construction and the discount they’re offering:
The Los Angeles Zoo parking lot is currently under construction as part of Proposition O Clean Water Bond. The changes to the L.A. Zoo’s parking lot will reduce urban runoff, remove bacteria and other pollutants from the runoff, and keep them from draining into the Los Angeles River. This project will install stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) such as porous pavement and bioswales, as well as increase green space and improve the aesthetic appeal of the L.A. Zoo parking lot with trees native to California, an improved promenade and educational signage. In addition, the renovated parking lot will have efficient lighting fixtures, recycling receptacles and an improved layout.
The Los Angeles Zoo Parking Lot project, along with other approved Proposition O projects, will assist in making our waterways safer and healthier while meeting Environmental Protection Agency and federal Clean Water Act requirements.
If you’re looking for another way to get to the L.A. Zoo, hop on board Metro’s number 96 bus. If you do take the bus, or another form of Metro public transportation, be sure to save your ticket because with that ticket, adults will get $3 off admission and kids will get $2 off!
