Hi, and welcome to a day in my life of enjoying the great weather and getting some lung expanding exercise at the same time.
It started with my Sunday morning addiction to climbing on my Road Bike and heading out for The Tour De Neighborhood.
This past week after checking the air in the tires, very important to keep ‘em at 120psi, so as to not pick up shards of glass, tire balancing weights, nails, screws, and other debris not visible to the naked eye along the roadside from a car. It’s amazing sometimes the stuff you see in that striped “Bike Lane”.
Just last month while riding in a hilly area, I came across a baby Rattle Snake all stretched out, sunning itself on the hot black top. I dodged the snake, but it was just another thing to keep a heads up on.
Anyway back to this past weekend, it was a little hard getting started, but as I’ve learned from experience, once I get rolling for a few miles, I’m in the cadence of pedaling, breathing good, feeling good it’s all good, and there is no better time of year in Southern California than Summer, to start early before the heat kicks in later in the day and get in a nice ride.
When I arrived back home my Cat Eye Computer said I traveled 20 miles in about an hour and a half. Time well spent in the saddle.
This weekend it’s the Simi Valley City golf championship, I tied for fourth last year in the “B” flight, not bad for a hack!!
I’ll let you know how it turns out…
